It’s Good to Be Back!

September 23rd, 2008

I am so happy to see everyone back at school.  It has been a long and difficult journey for many of us since Hurricane Ike.  I know there are several families still without power, and The Rice School is thinking about all of you.

A couple of announcements:

  • There will be no homework given for the next two weeks while everyone gets back on their feet.  However, I still encourage all students to read everyday when possible.
  • Due to the abrupt ending of the week before the hurricane, our class will study the same spelling and vocabulary words as a review.  We’ll practice in class and take our test on Friday.
  • Breakfast and lunch will be free to ALL students this week, but it is uncertain how long it will last.

Once again, I am so glad that you all are safely back at school.  Parents, please don’t hesitate to contact me if you need anything.
